Titanium is a common element used in a variety of industries including aerospace applications, automobiles, prosthetics, buildings, sporting equipment and jewelry. 

Titanium's physical qualities include: high strength, toughness, durability, low density, corrosion resistance, and biological compatibility. Titanium is nonmagnetic, possesses good heat transfer properties and is highly abrasion resistant.  This light, strong, lustrous, corrosion-resistant (including sea water and chlorine) transition metal can be alloyed with iron, aluminium, vanadium, molybdenum, among other elements, to produce strong lightweight alloys.  These assets make titanium and its alloys useful in a wide range of structural, chemical, petrochemical, marine and biomaterial applications. The sporting goods industry uses titanium in the construction of bicycles, golf clubs, tennis rackets, and wheelchairs.
